With 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, the score is tied 6-6. With Mike Napoli at 1st, Elvis Andrus lines the first pitch by Joakim Soria past first baseman Eric Hosmer. Napoli is waved around third by third base coach Dave Anderson. Right fielder Mitch Maier’s throw is relayed by Hosmer to catcher Brayan Pena in plenty of time to meet Napoli at the plate. Pena misses the tag and Napoli is called safe to end the game.
